/ About the project
In partnership with Apple, the Academy of Art University (AAU) embarked on an ambitious project to develop a mobile app called "Get Together." The primary goal was to address the challenge of creating an inclusive online platform for students, especially those who take classes exclusively online.
The app was designed to empower students by fostering a sense of community and providing a space for meaningful connections that would support them throughout their academic journey and beyond.

/CHALLENGE
With nearly half of AAU's students enrolled in online classes, the university recognized the need for a platform that would bridge the gap between online and on-campus experiences. The challenge was to create a digital space where students could confidently navigate their educational paths, build lasting connections, and feel part of the larger university community. The app also needed to offer features that would help students showcase their work, engage in academic discussions, and participate in events.
/ SOLUTION
We collaborated with Apple to develop the "Get Together" mobile app. The app was designed to empower students by offering a virtual space where they could establish meaningful connections. Key features include a virtual gallery for showcasing student work, a Q&A section for academic support, event management tools for organizing and participating in university events, and a job board to help students transition into their careers.

User-Friendly Navigation: Designed with simplicity in mind, the app allows students to easily access community forums, a virtual gallery, and event features, catering to all technical skill levels.
Integrated Experience: Seamlessly connected with AAU’s existing platforms, enabling students to sync academic schedules and events, making the app a natural part of their routine.
Personalized Profiles: Tailored content and interactions based on individual student interests and academic programs, fostering a deeper connection within the university community.

The "Get Together" app successfully bridges the gap between online and on-campus students, fostering a strong sense of community and collaboration. By providing a space for students to connect, showcase their work, and participate in events, the app helps students feel more engaged and supported throughout their academic journey. This collaboration between Apple and AAU demonstrates the power of technology in enhancing the educational experience and creating lasting connections among students.
